Last night I finished Like Dandelion Dust by Karen Kingsbury.
I have never read a Kingsbury book before this one but I can see why she's so popular.
Her writing style is intelligent yet approachable.
She makes every character shine - even the minor ones.
That woman really knows how to draw you into the story.
You find yourself (or at least I found myself) really emotionally involved in the characters and their lives.
With that said, this is a really good book.
Be warned though:
If you have a tender heart, are an adoptive parent or foster children this book will make you BAWL!
At one point, after sobbing for 45 minutes straight, David told me to shut the book and take a breather. There's a REALLY tough spot right in the middle of this puppy.
The book's conclusion wraps everything up nicely
but despite that,
I can say in full honesty this is a book I'll never read again
and a movie that I refuse to see.
As an adoptive mother, this was the most difficult book I've ever read in my life.
If you can handle an emotional roller coaster, this is a great book.
If you've been through a custody battle, read with caution!!!

I've been wanting to check out her books for a while now. I'm not sure I would be able to handle that one right now though if it made you bawl your eyes out because I already know I will be crying too!
i figured i couldn't handle it. now you've confirmed it.
i've read about half a dozen karen k books and i really enjoy them! you should try shades of blue. that's the most recent one i've read. and after tuesday morning is a good one too, with a sequel.
