You're Pregnant! Party

A couple of months ago I hosted my first shower.

I called it a "YEA! You're Pregnant!" Mommy Shower.

A dear dear friend of mine announced to a very small group
that she and her hubby are expecting their
very first child.

We were all so excited for them....
How could we not celebrate?!?!!

I'm not a gifted hostess.
I'm actually really awkward and the whole hosting thing is pretty foreign to me.

I googled and googled and googled...but I found nothing on parties celebrating a pregnancy.

I vow to change this.

Seriously - children are a gift from the Lord and I believe that every pregnancy should be celebrated.

Since the expectant mommy has an aversion to sweets, especially chocolate (Shocking! I know!) I had savory foods (quiche, veggies and dip) along with sweets (spice cupcakes with cream cheese, fruit).

While we munched we laughed together and talked about our sweet friend and her little miracle.

Then we presented the mommy-to-be with a few things that she will need for the pregnancy.

Sorry I don't have pictures of the people and the mommy.
It was all still very hush hush when we celebrated.

...and what party for a pregnant lady is complete without pickles?
