Grace from the Unlikely

I'm going to be pretty transparent here for a few minutes...bear with me.

David's grandfather died this morning at 5:15am.

My mother-in-law called at 5:30am in tears saying that her dad was not doing well and would pass away soon. Then, his cousin called saying that he had already passed away. I'm not sure if my mother-in-law didn't want to admit the truth or if the hospital didn't have the heart to tell her he'd already passed on.

David's granddad lived a very hard life. A self imposed hard life. I met him once. At Christmas. He was very nice to me but I had a hard time letting myself get to know him because of some of the things he had done in the past.

David's family loved him though. Despite everything that had happened in the past; they accepted him back into their lives. Yesterday, on his death bed, the woman he did unspeakable things to as a child told him that she forgave him and that she loves him. They have shown him grace beyond measure.

I know I shouldn't be so shocked by this outpouring of grace but I am. 90% of David's family are professed unbelievers. 8% Claim it but don't live it. 2% follow a false gospel.

This world is not a place where grace runs free...but the Lord has allowed it to here. I praise Him for that...His Grace convicted me today.

Please join me in praying for the Johnston/Kennedy families.
Thank you.

Please give David a hug for me. He's my favorite David Kennedy in the world.

Amanda Jo I am praying for all of your family and praising GOD for the grace he gives each of us when we least deserve or expect us, and even more when he shows us grace through others and humble us because of his love and grace.
