I got the results of my blood work today and, Praise the Lord, I'm not diabetic! You have no idea how great that is to hear! Since I'm Cherokee, diabetes runs very strongly in my family. My dad is diabetic, my grandad and I even had a cousin die at 30 from complications caused by diabetes. So this was something very important for us to determine as we try to decide how to treat my poly cystic ovarian syndrome.
In speaking with my doctor today, we've decided that since I'm not diabetic that the best treatment for me is the most natural treatment. So diet and exercise is my way of life now.
I got with my aunt last week whose hobby is health and wellness. She got me started on a healthy meal plan for diabetics, which I'll most likely stick with to help prevent diabetes, as well as a workout program. I'm excited to lose this weight and have the help of my aunt! I've already lost 8 pounds!
Now that my health stuff is getting back in order and my homes is 90% organized, I need to move on to another part of my life that's gotten out of control: my faith.
I talk a good talk, that's for sure. The Lord has been so good to me and has taught me a lot and I lean on that a lot but I have been really neglecting my QTs, not to mention my accountability partner. I haven't even been getting up earlier than my family in the morning, which is the only way I can really spend quality time with the Lord.
I'm excited to start spending more time with God like I should be. It's been too long!
