I skipped a VERY important bit of information yesterday when I was going through Ethan's story so here it is:
About six months after Ethan moved in and CPS got involved, the judge was having a very hard time getting my family member and her husband to cooperate with drug tests, scheduled meetings and their service plan. Ethan's biological father, we'll call him Ted, even told his psychologist (or is it psychiatrist?) that he knew how to mask his urine samples so that they don't come out positive (he's a genius, did I mention that?).
Apparently, Ted got word that the judge was going to order follicle samples from both parents. So what did Ted do? Shaved his head all the way to the skin. The judge laughed and said "You have hair on other parts of your body and we will take it from there if we need to." That day both parents relinquished their rights with the request that David and I adopt him.
Immediately we started the adoption process. It took just a little less than a year. We had countless hours of interviews, 3 home studies, I had to prove that I am a member of the Cherokee Nation (since Ethan is a tribal member) and thousands of dollars worth of lawyer and court costs. It was all worth it and we would do it again and again if we needed to.
The adoption was finalized April 21st, 2006.

Now on to a completely different subject. I thought I would show you guys some products that have made my life SO much easier. I also wanted to show you a picture of a room I love!!!
First, this razor has changed my life. It is, by far, the easiest razor to use and just glides along your skin. I'm not kidding you when I say that I only have to go over my legs one time and they have NEVER been this smooth!
Next is Fantastik. Kate introduced me to this stuff a couple of weeks ago and I have cleaned everything in my home with it - well, except for Ethan and the mirrors. I have been a 409 girl all my life but not anymore...nope. When I clean my bathtub, this is all I use and the tub scrubs up easily, the tile sparkles and even the hardware is nice and shiny - no water spots at all - FOR DAYS!
I haven't tried it but Kate swears you can use this to remove stains on your carpet!!! I am glad I haven't had to use it like that but I am glad to have it on hand just in case I need it.

Also, if I am ever blessed with hardwood floors, big windows and brown leather furniture this is the room I would make. Isn't it great!!!??? I can incorporate as much color into it as I want - when I'm sick of my Spring colors I can bust out the Fall ones...then at Christmas time, oh it could be so cozy and festive!

So pretty.
