Ok, not really.
I don't have just one thing I'd like to blog about today so I thought I'd touch on multiple things in my favorite way - List Style!
Here we goooooooooooo.....
1. Ethan had one GREAT day and one good day at school this week...the rest have been red sad faces. His teacher called me to request another PTC (parent teacher conference), this will be our second one and instead of her giving me a book to read, I'm going to give her a book to read. It's called The Defiant Child, it's probably the best book on the market for parents of ODD children.
Am I strange for being offended that at our first PTC his teacher brought in a parenting book? I couldn't help but think that she though he was just a child whose parent's don't know what structure and discipline are. Now, I wasn't offended to the point that I was angry, it just kind of stung a little.
2. David's job search is going well! He has one job that's kind of a fall back, but it isn't a throw away job at all, if you know what I mean. It even pays more than the job he's currently at. He would be working for my friend's husband's company.
My friend's husband told him to pursue the job that he really wants but that he has a job with him if things don't work out. Isn't it AWESOME how the Lord provides exactly what you need? So anyway, David has an interview on Monday with the job he REALLY wants. He would be working as an apprentice to an electrician and he would get a little salary, the awesome part is that this gentleman pays for his apprentices to go to school to be licensed and certified!
It all comes down to that old saying "...teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime."
3. The Office was AWESOME last night. I attempted not to spoil anything so if you would like to be on the safe side, skip to number 4. Such a roller coaster of emotions and awkwardness!! Without giving away too much information...I was so upset at somebody last night but quickly got over it...if you know what I mean! Oh, and it's about time!
4. Tomorrow I'm going antiquing and garage sale-ing for a friend's birthday weekend and I am SO excited! I've gone out to dinner with this friend before and we had a ton of fun, I can't wait to shop with her!!!
5. I'll be launching something new on this blog here in the next week or two. I hope you'll like it. I also hope you'll respond to it...it'll really help my blogger's block.

I can't wait to shop with you either!! I watched "The Office" last night and get what you were refering to when you said it was about time..but who were you mad at?
i think i would be a little offended about the book, too. yipee!!! on the job search :)
also, i'm having a giveaway!!! stop by to enter!
sorry to hear that the teacher didnt recognize and respond to the fact that E has a disability, not that he just spends too much time in front of the TV and is as a result bored and hyper with a short attention span. after reading some of your earlier posts about his ODD
i believe this is what my brother in laws adopted brother was diagnosed with ( i just didnt know the term) he is also 4 and certain types of discipline that work on most kids dont work on him, also he has some kind of thing where he cant taste some stuff and has to have therapy to try and fix it. all this due to drug use and neglect as an infant.
That is so wonderful about David! The Lord really does provide.
Can't wait to see what new thing you have in store. Wonderful about your husbands job,and sounds like some fun tomorrow. Have a great time. Jacki
From a teacher stand point, I cannot believe that she gave you a book on parenting. I would NEVER do that to one of my student's parents. Is she a parent? Maybe she just does not understand. I'm so sorry she did that. Don't take it personally. Praying for you and Ethan as he transitions into school.
I would have been offended, too, if a teacher gave me a parenting book. I'll be praying that Ethan gets more smiley faces than sad faces!
The Office was great on Thursday! I'm so very happy it's back. And you are right - it is about time!
So glad to hear about how the Lord is working in your life! Praise Him!!
And honestly, even though I don't necessarily think it was wrong, boy would I have been offended if some teacher had given ME a parenting book! The nerve! But to learn to set aside my ego to evaluate if I was doing everyting possible for my child... that sounds liek soemthing the Lord might have been trying to teach me. So I don't know. It sounds like you are handleing it GREAT!!!!
Hope you are having a great Saturday out and about!
God bless-
Amanda
