Fireproof Your Marriage!

God is so sovereign and great! Today, the day before our anniversary, He allowed my husband and I the opportunity to see Fireproof, starring Kirk Cameron, two weeks before it hits theatres.

YOU NEED TO SEE THIS MOVIE!

I'm not kidding. I'll put it the best way I've heard it "This is not a movie, it's a movement!"

Through this movie the Lord shows the value of marriage but most importantly what the Lord did for each of us sinners and how only He can change lives.

I really wish I could put into words how strongly I feel about the change this movie can make in marriages (and engagements) across our state, nation and even world.

Please go in support of this movie on September 26th. If the media sees Fireproof in the top 5 of movies to debut in the box office (or however you say it), hopefully they will see that there is still hope for biblical marriage in America.

I pray that the Lord would use this movie in a mighty way to change people's lives through salvation (the Gospel is presented clearly and beautifully) and their marriages.

I was asked earlier if marriage gets easier. The honest answer is no, but if the Lord is at it's center, it gets sweeter.

Marriage is not easy, it never will be. The reason marriage will never be easy is because of the sin in our lives. The only way to be free from sin and its consequences (Hell, separation from God...)from sin is through faith in Jesus Christ. That He died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Not only did He die on the cross but He defeated death and sin on the third day when He rose again.

Marriage is a battle and unless Christ is at the center of a marriage, it's going to be an uphill battle all the way.

I praise the Lord that after one year of marriage, Ethan moved in and He used that little guy to lead my sweet husband to Christ. From that point on we started to fight together to keep Christ at the center of our marriage.

Here's hoping that we can keep Christ at the center for 45 more years!

My husband and I attended a pre-screening of this film; I suspect you did too. We agree that it's an important film for married couples; it portrays a struggling marriage in a very real situation, but focuses on the power of unconditional, covenant love rather than insulting it like most Hollywood movies do. At the screening we got a copy of The Love Dare book and a Couple's Kit, which is a study couples can do together. Both are wonderful and we really enjoy the time we spend on them together. I found these online at www.thelovedarebook.com and www.fireproofoutreach.com. Hope this helps, and yes--go see it!
