My WM Story (and books)

Four years ago I finally stopped running from God's calling and surrendered to the ministry He called me to: Women's Ministry (WM)!

It's been a long hard road and I am SO thankful that He has allowed me to continue to serve Him through this ministry.

The Lord really took me by surprise when He called me to WM. Growing up, I was the living definition of "tom-boy". Sports, mud, fishing, horses - that's what I was all about. I could have cared less about frills, girl scouts, gymnastics and dance. The company I kept in high school was primarily boys, girls were just too dramatic and catty. I praise the Lord that while I was unsaved, He preserved my purity and reputation - I would never recommend my youth girls go the route I did. It's too risky!

The church that the Lord has lead my husband and I to worship in is very very small (60-ish in Sunday School) and did not have a functioning WM. Having been saved at the ripe old age of 18, I had very little experience when I started working with WM, so I picked up every book I could get my hands on.

Today I thought I'd show you all some of my favorite WM books!
(click on the pictures if you want more info)

This book was instrumental in helping me start from the ground up. The WM at my church isn't what I know it can be but, with this book's help {wait: most importantly the Lord's help}, I know that it will impact lives for His glory!

Becoming a Titus 2 Woman was a gift from my pastor's wife. As a person who judges books by their covers (seriously, I do), I did not expect much from it but I have to say -

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!!!!

If you serve with women or girls in any capacity, you need to read this (including mothers of girls)!

This is another MUST READ for someone working with youth. Oh, and add this to your list if you're a parent. YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK! Let me tell you why...

(what you are about to read is 100% true)

The best friend of a 13 year old girl that I actually know is pregnant with her SECOND child. This baby girl is only 13 years old. Babies are having babies - EVEN in the church!

Read this book!
Seriously.

Speaking of youth and girls...

If you or someone you know is called to serve youth girls THIS is the book you MUST have. Advice, tips, tricks and important fill the pages of this easy to read book.
