Family Fun Friday: Hockey!

Welcome to another Family Fun Friday!

For the last couple of weeks we've been participating in a FREE hockey program through the Dallas Star's organization.

It exists to get children addicted to hockey so they can beg their parents into letting them continue to play.

It's TOTALLY working on Ethan!

His poor freezing toes on the cold locker room floor.
I think his legs look hilarious in those bright blue socks.

(these pics are from weekend before last)

E wanted a kiss from his daddy once he had the helmet on.

Hockey, son, not boxing. Although I can see how he'd get confused.

Oops, forgot the jersey!

(These pics are from last weekend, when they finally got ice time)

Learning to walk in skates before hitting the ice.

First time on the ice and can't stand up.

We thought he was getting really discouraged and would never set foot on an ice rink again.

Then the coach came and fixed everything.

By the end of the hour he was up and skating.

Later, as we were leaving, he ran out of the locker room, walked right up to the coach, gave him a hug and said "THANK YOU!"

This hockey stuff is great but it's so not Southern - we're going to have to buy him a banjo to make up for this!
