MPM & Family Update

Soooooo, I have a confession....

We went crazy last week and ate out almost every night!

The good news (if you can call it that) is that I don't have to grocery shop this week at all! I just have to pick up some tea and sugar so we don't run out of things to drink.

Menu for This Week:
Monday: Queso Chicken
Tuesday: Chicken and Dumps
Wednesday: Dinner @ Mom's
Thursday: Leftover Chick 'n Dumps
Friday: Mexican Style Slow Cooker Chicken (recipe to come soon!)

Family Updates

Ethan is still doing VERY well on his new meds! We couldn't be happier with his behavior! However, we are still having issues with him going potty in his closet. We've decided not to put a training toilet in his room because we don't want him to think that it is EVER ok to go potty in there.

David's job is going really well also! His only complaint is that he hurts his back often. We Icy-Hot it and he stretches it out so he heals up pretty quickly but it's still a scary thing. Despite that, he loves going to work and is SO thankful for this job!

I am still crazy. I don't know if I'll ever get past it. Last night David even said to me "You know, you need to learn to relax. We need to find you a hobby." I know he was trying to be sweet and helpful but, really, I couldn't imagine adding anything else to my plate.

Women's ministry stuff is coming along really well. I've learned a lot from some VERY awesome women....they have been such an encouragement. I realize now that I may never reach the older women in our church, and that's okay. I was told to keep trying, loving and praying for them but not to count on them changing. I have also learned not to be discouraged by a turn out of only 3 or 4. Turns out, most of the time this is where REAL changes are made and the real learning takes place.

The Nursery Committee is still the thorn in my side. Sadly, a couple of volunteers have been treating one of the others pretty poorly and she's not not going to be serving in the nursery. I don't blame her a bit for it either - I wouldn't if they had treated me this way. So, as the committee chairperson I am going to be holding a meeting with my committee members on Sunday then the pastor and I are going to team up and have a meeting with the volunteers collectively. Has your church come up with a creative way to deal with the nursery? Especially in getting people to volunteer and in keeping them happy! I would appreciate your input!

I am getting ready to buy some Contact Cards!

I have found it very inconvenient to have to find paper and a pen in order to write down my contact information for people all the time.

Serving in women's ministry, starting up a play group for children with behavioral disorders and just meeting some of Ethan's friend's parents I have started to give my contact info out to more people that I could have ever dreamed! Right now I am considering these, you can purchase them from Michelle Brusegaard on Etsy! Aren't they cute!?

I can't wait to place my order so I can start using them!

very cute! you definately need some of those.

at our church (the one we go to on sundays, not the one we head up on wednesdays) theres one lady who i guess has the job of nursery committee head, and she just asks us parents who use the nursery when she needs someone and between parents and grandma types (who i guess like watching about 6 wild kids for an hour) she usually has enough help. now im not crazy about nursery duty but as a parent who uses it i wouldnt dare say no.

UGH! The nursery is the one thing that gets my blood boiling! We, as parents of babies through 5 years, are supposed to volunteer in the early childhood department once a month, which I do. But our new leader treats her volunteers with no respect. She has completely changed the schedule without informing anyone, and has started telling parents that they are to work as many days in early childhood as they have children participating. So, if you find any insights on how to get the nursery running smoothly, I would LOVE to know!
