It's Clean!!!!!!!

I am proud to announce my house. is. clean.

I love the feeling of having a clean home. Even though I haven't vacuumed or mopped yet, my house just feels clean and fresh.

Last night I:
Did the dishes
Folded Laundry Mountain
Scrubbed bathrooms (both of them)
Cleaned the master bedroom
Dusted
Organized our bookshelf (harder than it sounds)

Last night David got home from work at 9:15pm. This is such a change from his very punctual 6:15 that we're used to with his old job. He did love coming home to a clean home and a hot meal. I almost felt like a SAHM, even though it was late and the debate was on.

I just love the feeling of relaxing in a clean bed and reading before going to sleep. If my room is messy, I can't do that. I can't relax in a messy environment. I'm a little weird that way.

I've also decided that I need to decorate the master bedroom. It really is the last room in my home that needs decor. Except Ethan's room but because of his Sensory Disorder, his room is as plain as possible - you know, without feeling cold and unwelcoming.

Anyway...since our gigantic headboard is black and we have natural wood bedside tables and dresser I though it would be nice to go with a nature theme. So, I'm looking for black and white, Ansel Adams style prints of forest scenes; a beautiful piece of natural driftwood; green or blue sheets (to go under our white duvet); and other natural looking piece that could add color or texture (any ideas?). Here are some pictures of what I have in mind:

Color Ideas (accents in blues & greens)
Decoative driftwood that I am not paying $50 for - sorry Pottery Barn.

I'll find some of my own. Thanks!

I'm not going for a rustic look...more like a clean pretty outdoorsy look. Have you all noticed how bad I am at trying to describe my style? It's something like this (below) but for a bedroom:

Oh, and I'm still looking for a bunch of these:

So I would describe your style as modern rustic. But thats just me! :)

Good luck on all that... actually target has some cute stuff that might fit in with your style...

And not to be annoying (almost always proceeded by annoying comment) you should put a reminder link in each of your news entries about the "launch" and your question/answer stuff!

Many blessings-
Amanda

Sounds good. We actually have Ansel Adam pictures on our wall and on our bookshelfs. Once we get a house with an office, they'll go in Lance's office, but for now they look good in the mB. I'm with you on the decor part..my MB is one of the last rooms I have left to do as well..

You need to go to Ikea, friend. Look at all the cheap Ansel knockoffs they have:

Other things you could add for texture and rustic-nicity are those willow/wicker balls and a pretty vase with those tall sticks like these:

Gotta love Ikea!! :o)

Many congrats on the clean house. I know exactly what you're talking about... that's the best feeling in the world. Especially when you're working outside the home and feel out of control with housework most days (I speaking about myself of course). :)

Love the nature theme, very Walt Whitman. Sounds lovely.
