1. The situation with Ethan is kind of at a stand still. Words that are said aren't getting through to him. Structure and discipline aren't getting through to him. Time-outs and spankings aren't getting through to him.
So, I bet you're wondering what David and I are going to do. First, we're going to take some parenting classes. I'm sure we won't agree with everything they say, but they have to have some good information to pass along. Second, we're already talking to the special education director as well as the diagnostician for the elementary schools in out area; hopefully we'll be able to get him tested soon. Third, we're going to re-examine our routines, rules and consequences. Since he's nearly 5, it's time we update all of this. What works for a 3 year old probably won't work for a 5 year old.
2. Since David started his new job with CrAzY hours my weight loss plans have derailed but I'm jumping back on the band wagon. Tonight I am going grocery shopping and I should even have enough time for some exercise, which I am actually excited to do! I always feel so good after a work out.
3. I REALLY need a digital camera! You guys don't know how bad I want to post pictures of the cute things my wild little boy does, my home, my garage sale/antique mall finds, funny and random things. I love blogs that add that extra bit of personal oomph with pictures. Maybe for Christmas!

praying for you guys, sweet girl :) hope you have a refreshing weekend!
i have one healthy eating tip but i wont give it unless im asked directly, because im trying not to be a "fixer" and be a better listener.
and OMG you sweet patient angel i know what it is to deal with a relatively well behaved 3yr old, i would have lost my patience more times than i would care to think about. God really knew who had what it took to be Ethans Momma. be blessed and know where that strength is going to come from.
I would love to see photos of all the things you mentioned in this post - I really hope you get a camera soon!
Yeah, thanks for "ministering" to us for the past 3 years. LOL
HOOK 'EM!
I read Raising UnSelfish Children in a Self Absorbed World and was changed forever. Jill Rigby (author) figured out my parenting style right away and fixed me! Ok, ok. I'm still a little broken, but I'm getting better. I HIGHLY recommend reading this book, even if you know it doesn't apply to you. It does!
And shes a Christian author. Just please ignore her consistent referrence of The Message for Biblical referrance. I detest that silly little Bible version.
Many blessings and prayers for you all!
Amanda
