Ugh...Apartments!

So this weekend was spent tending to a sick kiddo and trying to figure out what apartment we will be living in for the next year. And, sadly, we had to tote him around to try to find another apartment.

There are so many reason why we're not ready to buy a home right now, mostly because we don't know where my husband will end up working and we're all about living as close as possible to work (right now, David and I both work 3 miles from our home!)

This is a picture of our apartment complex (thank you, complex's website!):

Out of all the apartments we've ever lived in (only 3), these are the best ones, even though there is only ONE DUMPSTER for at least 10 buildings (not exaggerating).

This is the floorplan that my hubs and I live in (sans fireplace and recess wall 3 feet).

You read that right, 954 sq. feet . TINY tiny! We seriously can't fit a couch and a love seat in our living room; we only have a couch and a small rocking chair. We got this tiny place when we were right in the middle of Ethan's adoption so we had to find something nice that wasn't insanely priced. Now that the adoption is complete (two years ago), we need a bigger apartment.

This is the one that we'd LOOOVE to have. Sadly, though, there are none available for us to move into.
Sadly, none of these apartments came available for us in the time frame that we needed it to. So, we decided to move on to this floorplan. We found a GREAT one that was on the second floor, above garages so we didn't have to worry about anybody below us and then we had the added bonus of nobody above us, since it was the top level of that building.

We told the leasing agent (LA) that we'd take it! We were SO excited cause it was right in our price range, no fireplace, free cable...it. was. perfect.

I called back to just ask a simple question about the layout and spoke with a different LA. She told me that, sadly, we couldn't have the apartment because it had been leased two days previously. The only other one they had was about $120 more than the one we wanted, no garage and it was situated over somebody.

We've been checking out sister properties, looking for rental homes, looking at other apartment complex and we can't find ANYTHING! We're about to go nuts, especially since we had to give our ridiculous 60 day notice ON SATURDAY. We were promised that one awesome apartment on Friday, so the news of it being leased threw us into all kinds of stress and panic.

So yeah, it was a fun weekend.

I did find some AWESOME deals at an antique store that is going out of business! I got two vintage Big Ben and Baby Ben clocks, two awesome green plates and a cup from the 40s as well as a glass dome...all for $17!!! I will miss The Sage House though, it was one of my favorites.

Sorry for all the venting, this apartment thing is REALLY REALLY on my mind. Pray that the Lord would make His will clear to us...we're so confused.
