I feel better just knowing that it's officially fall, even though the 90 degree weather would argue otherwise.
Fall is when I start feeling the most domestic. See, I can't work in the Spring because it's too pretty and I want to be outside. I can't work in the summer because it's too hot and I just want to hide in the air conditioning and try not to sweat. In the fall, I want to open my windows, light some spicy candles, and bake some cookies! Oh, and in the winter I am way busy setting up for holidays and recovering from holidays.
This week I'll be spending a lot of time getting my house back in shape after my summer hibernation period.
Tonight: Tackling Laundry Mountain.
Tuesday Night: Cleaning the nooks and crannies.
Wednesday Night: Re-arrange the master bedroom.
Thursday Night: Escape for girls' night out.
Friday Night: Shampoo Carpet - ALL. OF. THEM.
Saturday: Escape for some antiquing!
Here are some thing I want to implement or re-implement into our home:
~ Menu Plan Monday (I won't be posting it online, though. Sorry.)
~ The Brain (David and I saw a lady on tv who was SUPER organized and she had a system called The Brain. Her family put EVERYTHING in a planner: dinner menu, important dates, budget information - EVERYTHING!
~ Sunday Dinners. I would looooove to start having a big meal on Sundays after church and invite people over to enjoy them with us.
~A family mission project. I would love to see out little family doing something great to grow the Kingdom and share Christ's name with our community. We need to start thinking about how we can serve Him as a family.
~ Regular schedule for physical activity - for the whole family! This means walking (x-many days per week), playing outside, going to the park, ice skating (if the E loves it), hiking, etc.
THE CHALLENGE
How can you and your family honor the Lord through your community?
Coming Up Tomorrow:
I've been tagged by Kate so you'll get to read 7 random things about me. I'm very very random, so this should be good.
Update on David:
David has a job interview tomorrow, which seems promising. Pay is the main thing that would derail this job prospect.
He's looking forward to his job interview on Friday with a local electrician. This seems to be the one that he's most excited about. It won't pay much in the beginning but they will pay for him to go to school to become a certified and licensed electrician.
The third job that seems promising is with a very well known oil and gas company. It pays very well and they take very good care of their employees and their families. The problem with this job would be that it's 45 minutes away from everything (home, my job, E's school, church, friends, family...) and they require the men work up to 100 hours a week. That breaks down to 15 hours per day, 6 days per week.
We're still praying that the Lord would make the perfect job clear to us.

Lots to think about! Prayers for the job thing... the Lord is so good at giving us exactly what we need exactly when we need it. Even if its not what we want! (I sure do complain about that sometimes)
I saw the Brain on...Wifeswap was it?... she was a bit overly anal for me...but a good general idea.
When you are God's precious and obedient child, a "Brain" is neat, but can't be the central system of all we do. Granted, that is an opinion! You would be wonderfully obedient in any thing you tackeled I am sure.
Many blessings-
Amanda
I'll pray for you guys with all of these job interviews and possible decisions to make.
As for Miles' school. There really is not principal. The main teacher is... the MOTHER of Miles' teacher. So can't complain to her. If I pull Miles out, I'd have to pull Ella out too as she is in the same preschool. To be honest, I really should start looking into other options in case I need to do that.
I will mention to this teacher that Miles didn't want to go to school Monday morning and ask if anything is going on with him at the school. He tells me he likes it and now (after school) wants to go back. He also says he likes the teacher.
I too feel a little more domestic. At least I want to clean more instead of leaving it while we go outside to do something more fun.
I love all your reasons for why you can't work! They are so very true!
I'll be praying for you and your family on the job front.
As I finished reading I have said a prayer that God will make very clear, what the job choice is to be. Have a blessed day! Jackie
