I bet you're wondering

....how the Beth Moore conference went.

It was so good, we didn't even take a single picture! I'm ashamed at our lack of, um, something that would make us remember to take pictures for our blogs.

Anyway.

Friday morning we left bright and early - 7am - which for Krissy, is quite a sacrifice. We had planned on eating lunch with Kate's sister, who is in college near Austin, but we got stuck in the most horrible traffic I've ever been in. Thank you Round Rock.

We slowed to a halt in Round Rock at about 10:30; an hour and a half later we'd moved approximately 4 miles and saw 6 men run to pee in the bushes along the highway. You Texans are mighty classy folks.

The amazing directional skills that I have kicked in and I found a back road that would lead us to San An but I did have to call to make sure it wasn't going to take us to crazy places. Turns out, the way I found spit us out just a mile or two from my amiga's house but it did take us to crazy places - like Blanco. Why is Blanco crazy? Cause you say it blank-o, with a long a. Blank-o. Seriously, why isn't it pronounced like the Spanish word for white? Anyway, thanks to me and my amazing Indian tracking abilities, we made it to San An and saw some of the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

The conference was just as amazing as I'd hoped it would be. See, we went to another conference last year that I thought was TERRIBLE and borderline heretical (if not all the way) - if you want to know which one and why, e-mail me. Anyway, I was so afraid that the Beth conference would be similar since it had been SO LONG since I had been to one of her meetings.

Let me just tell you, if you're planning on going to one of Beth's conferences, BRING YOUR BIBLE, about 4 book marks (cause you're all over the thing and you'll need to hold your place in all of them), bring a jacket and make sure you're wearing your adult sized diapers. Not only are the bathrooms overcrowded and take forever to get into but Beth will have you rolling and possibly wetting yourself from laughing so hard.

That woman is a spaz and I love it. She was telling us that she has six cheerleaders living in her head and they are all jumping and yelling at the same time. I'm tellin' ya, that woman is hilarious.

What is amazing though is that between making you laugh and flipping through pages and pages of Scripture, you're learning very important Bible truths. And, as only the Lord can, each person in the room gets a message that seems tailor made for her! It's amazing, my friends and I all hear the same lecture and the Lord used it to meet us where we were and draw us closer to Him.

Some of the points that I was given during this conference (which may be TOTALLY different from what you got if you were there):

- I have been entrusted with my husband and son.
- If you're comfortable where you are, then you're not doing what the Lord has called you to; we are supposed to live under His power, not our own.
- We are co-heirs with Christ for a beautiful inheritance.
- You know those verses that talk about "fighting the good fight"? Beth said something, I don't know if it was another definition or translation of a certain word but she basically said that we are fighting a "beautiful fight" for our beautiful inheritance.

I'm tellin' ya, those points up there aren't even a smidgen of what all we learned. Seriously. It was amazing and overwhelming.

After the conference wrapped up we went back to our friend's house, where we were staying, and kidnapped her for a late lunch, just as a 'thank you' for letting us stay. Afterward, we were on the road again.

Oh, and if you're ever in Wakeway, Wexas stop by the Chicken Express (if you can find it) and visit the poor guy behind the counter. He was probably the popular guy who graduated from high school and never left town and since he never left and his girlfriend did, they broke up. So now, he's sad and lonely and working at Chicken Express, he needs your company.

Update on Ethan's First Day of PreK

Ethan had a great day in PreK. The only issue he had was that he wasn't following directions very well. Otherwise, he had an excellent day!!! I'm very proud of my big boy! He even made a new friend, Adam. Apparently, Adam is a purple kid. Which, according to the description of his teacher (he calls her his Green Teacher) that just means that Adam was wearing a purple shirt. He's so funny and observant.

Thanks for caring you guys! I'm such a rambler, I can't believe you actually read all of this.

Hi Amanda Jo,

Well, it definitely sounds like the conference was amazing. The points you mentioned are very powerful.

Ethan is a cutie. It takes a while for them to settle down in school and follow directions. It sounds like he is going to like school a lot. A friend already, very wonderful.

That's great to hear about Ethan's day and you having such a refreshing and encouraging time at the conference. I'm not really big into "women's" conferences..they usually have too much fluff and emotions for a tomboy like me..but I love Beth Moore, cause she tells it like it is!

And by the way..I'm pretty sure all six of those guys peeing were "Okies!!"
