After two suggestions from very reliable sources I sat down last night to watch The Thin Man.
I thought about renting it from the library even though they only had it on VHS then I checked my comments yesterday and my sweet friend Mandy offered to let me borrow the WHOLE SERIES and she said she'd send it along with her husband, who I work with. Mandy, thank you!
This is an AWESOME movie! I can't wait to watch the next one!
Last night David and a buddy of his went out to do manly things (hit balls at the batting cages) so I decided to curl up with a cup of coffee and watch a movie.
It was a great evening even though Laundry Mountain needed climbing...you know what they say "Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow". I need to start embroidering all of these quotes of mine onto pillows or something.
Back to the story....the house was clean, Ethan was in bed, the coffee was good and I'm minding my own business watching this charming movie when, suddenly, there was a flash of light and a loud booming CRRRACK.
Lo and behold, a small cell of severe storms was passing through my area even though it wasn't forecasted. Needless to say I jumped off the couch and ran to the sliding door to watch - as any good hillbilly girl would do - I didn't even care that I spilled my coffee and Benny was flung onto the floor. Poor Benny was just fine, he actually scratched at the patio door so he could enjoy the rain first hand...I think not, Mr. Ben, I don't feel like wiping your feet.
All in all though, it was a great night. If Kate weren't such a cow and hanging out on the beach with her cool sister she could have enjoyed it with me.
On a more important note....ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS IS HAVING HER BABY TODAY!!!
Matthew Asher, we can't wait to meet you!!! My sweet friend Melissa is having this sweet little guy today and Lord willing all things will go well. So now I'm just waitin' for the call and then I'm heading up to the hospital to pinch a baby.
I praise the Lord for the amazing women He's brought into my life. I'm thinking I should "introduce" you guys to all of my friends. You might even get to see a picture of the elusive Kate!

I'd love to see pictures of both you guys! I'm SO happy you liked The Thin Man! The second movie is just as good (I thought) and then there are six in all. The others never really measure up to the first two, but the characters are still endearing.
Yeah, I agree with Liz that the first two are the best..but they all have their certain charm. Plus, even the worst of the bunch is still better than 80% of the trash that passes for comedy today.
When you're done with those, I'll have to loan you another great comedy with William Powell and Carol Lombard called "My Man Godfry."
Found you via your comment on Liz's blog ... I have Thin Man on my Netflix queue! I may have to bump it to the top, its been a while since I've enjoyed a good classic. :)
I understand LAUNDRY MOUNTAIN! I conquered it today, while watching a sweet movie "The Ultimate Gift" Will finish the rest of the house tomorrow. Enjoying reading your blog found you by way of Mabel's House. Hope you'll stop by some time.
I haven't seen that movie for years. Definitely a classic!
Congrats to your friend. Is this her first?
Have a blessed weekend.
