I GOT THE COUCH!

I'm SOOO excited! I got the couch and we moved it in on Saturday. It's beautiful and more of a tanny cream color then I thought it would be...I can't explain it very well. I would have taken pictures but I put my digital camera in my purse and "shattered" the screen. Yeah, my husband was not to thrilled with that.

So, Saturday night my friend Allison came by to hang out and watch a movie. Ethan (who is 4, by the way) was so excited because, in his eyes, all visitors are actually there to see him! He was very hyper and defiant (to say the least) that evening so I told him to go to bed early because he wasn't behaving in time out. He screamed and cried all the way to his room and after about 2 minutes he quieted down. Relieved, we turned the movie back up.

As soon as we did I heard a small voice yelling from the other room "OOOOHH I pee peed in the bed!" I went in to check on him and sure enough - he'd purposefully peed on his bed. I cleaned up the mess and put new sheets on his bed, gave him new undies and put him back to bed. I knew he was trying to get out of going to bed right then and was expecting to hear from him again.

We started watching the movie, AGAIN, when he ran out of his room very determined and firmly stated "I PEED ON THE FLOOR!". As a form of discipline, I cleaned him up and sent him back to bed without undies. I told him that if he couldn't wear his big boy underwear without peeing in them he didn't get to wear them.

I know all the child rearing experts say not to laugh after disciplining your child but I just couldn't help it! Upon receiving the news that he would go 'night night' in his birthday suit he SCREAMED and jumped up and down frantically (completely naked by the way), right in front of my guest.

It was an exciting evening...he did eventually fall asleep and when David got home we woke him up to use the potty (as usual) and put him in a pair of undies - we figure he'd been punished enough. He was grateful for the second chance and quickly went back to sleep.

Even though he can be a handful at times, I can pretty much guarantee you that you have never met a little boy who is so funny and sweet as mine!

Oh no, that is funny. My son once purposefully peed in a big basket of his sister's beanie babies. I sat down and cried.

:-)

Happy day,
