Happy Valentines Day

The sweetest thing just happened in the office where I work. My "assistant" and I were sitting at the reception desk when one of the ministers zipped around the corner and gave her a beautiful arrangement of flowers. She was so surprised and said thank you as he zipped back to his office. Not only did he do this for her but every other single woman in our office. What a great testimony of Christ's love! Lets all go out and make somebody who is single or is widowed feel loved today - so Christ's love will be known.

I reinstated my gym membership today! I can't wait to get started again Saturday morning. If you all haven't heard of Les Mills workout program I would highly reccommend you check it out. I really enjoy Body Pump, which is a full body toning program that takes about an hour and can burn up to 500 calories. It's pretty amazing. I also like the Body Combat class (a lot like kickboxing) although I can't go to it often because it falls on our Bible study night at church.

I've always been an athletic girl. I played soccer for four years, basketball for two and softball for nine. After I quit the softball team (I can't believe I'm admitting this online) I joined the ladies weight lifting team at school. So, in my previous life (high school and college) I was very active. They say muscle has memory...I'm hoping they are right!

So here is my plan:

Work-Out: Week One
Daily (except Sunday): Stationary Bike for 30 minutes
Mon, Wed, Sat: Body Pump

Diet: Week One
Since I want this to be a lifestyle change more than I do a "diet" I am going to post what little things I'm going to start doing now to make a big change in my life for the long run.

1. Everytime I think about drinking a coke I'm going to choose water instead. I've got to start making conscious (and healthy) decisions about what I put in my body.

2. I have to start eating breakfast daily. Even if its a Slim-Fast and a banana running out the door I need to get something in my body to fuel my day.

3. I've got to start cutting back on the massive amounts of sugar I put in our tea. I live in Texas and we like our tea sweeeeeeet - I'm not sure how my husband is going to react to this one.

I think by making small changes weekly I might be able to really turn this around by the end of the year. I'd love to lose between 8 and 10 pounds a month.

Top 5 Things That Motivate Me
5. Running around with E without getting tired
4. Rock climbing again
3. Being able to wear the clothing brands I miss so much
2. Overall feeling like myself again
1. Feeling like I am actually taking care of the body God gave me.

I'm excited about the journey I'm about to go on! I'm going to try my very best to check in every Thursday and let you know how I'm doing, how many inches I've lost and how many pounds I've shed. I think I'm going to call this Fitness Fiasco!

Grace & Peace
Amanda

I know this is an old post, but just a few thoughts:

How’s going for water instead of a coke working for you? Having you tried putting something in the middle? Like juice or crystal light? Going from Coke to Water is quiet a jump. The people I know locally have had more luck backing away from Coking using something that’s still sweet, and then moving from that to strait water.

How would your husband feel about Splenda instead of Sugar in his tea?

Good luck
